BI Community of Experts (BICE)
The Business Intelligence Community of Experts (BICE) is a new organizational opportunity related to BI on campus. BICE is a key component in the development of BI resources and expert users at
U-M.
The Strategic Plan [PDF] from the Advisors on Information Management Strategy (AIMS) resulted in recommendations [PDF] to create a Business Intelligence Competency Community. A BIC (Business Intelligence Council) was recently formed, composed of approximately 15 University campus representatives who have made a significant commitment to driving the success of BI at U-M. The next step is to finalize membership in the competency community, known as BICE.
BICE will help bridge the gap between schools and colleges, MAIS and central offices. BICE members will work with the BIC to provide a forum to enable BI users to share their expertise with each other and continue our evolution toward information maturity. The BICE will foster collaboration across campus by:
BICE participants will share their experiences, ideas and plans around BI, thereby members can learn from them and/or collaborate on future initiatives and ideas. Forums, online media, presentations and other methods will be used to facilitate dissemination and discussion.
Participants will have the opportunity to use the BICE to obtain feedback on potential projects and initiatives by:
In addition, BICE participants will work together with various subgroups to support BI on campus (e.g. methodology, training, communications, data advocacy, etc.).
You can review the BICE charge [PDF] for more details.
Please complete the BICE Participant Request Form to express your interest in participating on the BICE.
